Olivia & Jonathan’s elegant fall wedding at the Beach Club in Minneapolis

Olivia and Jonathan’s wedding ceremony was so heartfelt and lovely. One of my favorite moments to photograph was Olivia’s entrance: as she descended this grand staircase and processed into the ceremony space, she had the biggest smile on her face as she saw all the people she loved gathered to celebrate her and Jonathan. Meanwhile Jonathan looked so happy with his eyes locked on Olivia - it was such a moving moment to witness.

Emma and Andy’s happy, relaxed summer wedding

Emma and Andy had a grand entrance into the reception space alongside their wedding parties, and then the dinner began. Emma and Andy spent much of the dinner time visiting all of the guest tables, intentionally connecting with their people. They did sneak outside for a few sunset pictures, which turned out so beautiful. It was a quintessential hot, summer night in Minnesota, and the sun shone brightly as it set.

Sue and Rachael's intimate & heartfelt summer wedding on the North Shore

Rachael and Sue wanted a romantic first look moment beside the water, and when they found a spot with a big, beautiful rock overlooking the waves, they knew it was the perfect location. It was an epic, magical moment witnessing them see each other all dressed up–full of happy tears and affection. We then spent some time exploring the rocky shoreline and wooded trails of the resort to take portraits alongside the stunning North Shore.

Katrina and Katie’s happy, easy-going elopement with breathtaking views of the North Shore

When planning their elopement, Katrina and Katie knew they wanted a small ceremony surrounded by nature and featuring their closest friends. They love and feel a strong connection to the North Shore, so they chose several beautiful spots alongside Lake Superior for their elopement day. They wanted their day to feel easy-going and relaxed, with unstructured time to pause, take deep breaths, and truly feel present to the adventure of getting married.

Lauren & Rob’s creative, community-filled wedding at the Hook and Ladder theater

Lauren and Rob wove intentionality and originality into every moment of their wedding day. Thoughtfully discerning which wedding traditions they wanted to create or include, they decided to opt out of having a wedding party or taking getting ready/first look pictures – we started the photography portion of the day with some easygoing portraits of the two of them together. We took some portraits outside the theater on Minnehaha Ave, capturing the liveliness of the neighborhood– the bikes, the colorful mural, the bright sun warming the sidewalk–that has been the landscape of their life together.

Julia and Bryan’s relaxed & long-awaited outdoor wedding reception

Having worked with Julia and Bryan for several years now, I have witnessed how intentional and creative they are as individuals and as a couple. Julia and Bryan are both artists and musicians, and they care deeply about their communities. After having a small wedding ceremony in 2021 to officially get hitched, last summer Julia and Bryan finally were able to gather all their people together for a vow renewal ceremony and outdoor wedding reception at a park!

Catherine and Ryan's joyful wedding reception full of community

Catherine and Ryan are two incredibly thoughtful people. I had the privilege of getting to photograph their engagement session as well as the small wedding ceremony they held in Stillwater, MN amidst the pandemic, with only a handful of close family and friends. They chose to plan a renewal of vows ceremony and a bigger reception at the Theodore Wirth Chalet exactly one year after their wedding.

Emmett and Ashley's garden wedding in New York

From the beginning of planning their wedding, Emmett and Ashley wanted their day to feel like an authentic reflection of their relationship. They wanted their friends and family (many of whom were traveling from out of town) to get to experience this gorgeous part of New York, and they wanted to create an immersive and happy experience for their guests to relax and celebrate.

They chose M & D Farms in Westerlo, New York for their venue, and its winding gardens and trails were a magical setting. Ashley and Emmett’s entire day had an effortless, elegant feeling to it, and with all of their favorite people gathered into one beautiful spot, these two were basically glowing all day long.

Josephine and Phil’s intentional, adventure-filled wedding on top of a mountain in Oregon

As we talked about Phil and Josephine’s wedding plans and how they envisioned the day, I heard so much about their community - their family and friends, their sweet niblings, their wedding party (which was one big shared wedding party with all of their closest people). They were so excited to be able to gather together with all of their friends and family from different parts of their life to join together, to have a wedding ceremony that invited in all of their community in a setting with a breathtaking view, and to spend the evening celebrating with everyone. These two love nature and their community and each other, and the day they crafted was undeniably special and a true reflection of their values and connection.

Noelle and Thomas’s relaxed, happy wedding

From the beginning of my time working with them, Thomas and Noelle talked about how much they wanted their day to feel comfortable and relaxed. They were happy to skip traditions that didn’t feel authentic to them in lieu of more spontaneous, lighthearted moments. They couldn’t wait to gather their loved ones, eat incredible food, and have a really easygoing, fun day together.
