  • For some detailed pricing/package info, you can download my current pricing guide on this page. I like to work with each couple to explore and customize my packages, so that you can include everything that’s important to you, and nothing that doesn’t resonate.

Together, we’ll choose what your package should include, from hours of wedding day coverage, to engagement sessions, multiple photographers, and printed wedding art. A wedding album and all the final digital images are included in all of my packages.

  • Yes, I’m a fully vaccinated wedding photographer! And I still continue to take covid safety precautious in my personal life and here in my work life.

  • I show all of my couples their final, edited wedding pictures about a month after their wedding day!

I actually show all of my clients their pictures in person - you come over to my studio (or we meet up via zoom, for out-of-state couples) and we drink champagne or sip some tea, watch a slideshow with all of your final pictures, plan out all of your final art together, and reminisce and relive the whole day. Showing couples their pictures is honestly one of my favorite parts of my job!

  • The smallest wedding I’ve photographed was an elopement with two guests; the largest I’ve photographed had nearly 600 people.

  • Yes, I am - absolutely. At this point in my career, I have the lighting and technical know-how to handle shooting in all sorts of spaces, contexts, and lighting conditions.

I’ve photographed weddings inside of dark churches, industrial brick buildings, funky warehouse spaces, dimly-lit barns, and atmospheric restaurants.

  • You'd receive all of the final, edited digital images from your wedding along with a print release - so yes, you'd be able to print them if you like!

  • There’s a bunch of variables that affect the number of final pictures - the amount of time I’m at a wedding (my amount of wedding-day coverage typically varies from about 5-12 hours) as well as the number of photo requests.  In general, there are between 250 - 600 final images from a wedding day.

One of the things that’s really important to me is not showing a bunch of photos in a row that all look the same - I want to show you only the best, most amazing pictures, but also all of those best, most amazing ones.

  • I do meet in person (or via zoom, for folks from out of town) with all of my couples. Initially, I like to meet with folks before deciding to work together - I think it's so helpful to look through examples of my work together in person, talk about pricing details, and create a custom package, etc.

Plus, I know how important it is to find a photographer that you really trust and get along with, so my couples find that it's useful (and necessary) to have that connection.

  • Absolutely! I love doing engagement sessions and the majority of my couples opt to include them. If you'd like to see some examples of my engagement sessions, here's a link to my engagement gallery.

  • The thing that I think most sets me apart in the MN wedding photography scene is my commitment to making printed, tangible wedding art you can hold in your hands. Of course, couples want the digital images from their day - and those are in all of my packages - but people come to me because I can help them turn their pictures into a gorgeous wedding album telling the story of their day.

Many of my couples also love creating wall art with a favorite portrait or a series of beloved images. If you'd like to see what this art looks like, here's a page on my site with some examples.

  • I love getting to help couples with the album design process! I hear from so many of my couples who have gotten overwhelmed making photo books or albums online before (and it’s absolutely true - it can take a lot of time when you’re not used to it!) and one of my secret favorite parts of my job is getting to make this process really easy and stress-free for couples.

It all actually starts before the wedding - at a meeting with couples before their wedding day, we’ll look at my different album sizes/options and talk about which album size they’re drawn to.  So before the wedding even happens, I have an idea of what album shape/size a couple loves!

Fast forward to a few weeks after the wedding - couples come to my home office for the reveal of their wedding pictures. We have tea or champagne and go through a slideshow of all of their final, edited wedding pictures. It’s magical!! At this point, I have also already created a mockup album design for them - it captures how I would tell the story of their day. We look at it together, make any tweaks they like (I find that my couples love the way that I design albums because I have so much practice with telling a visual story - most couples only tweak a couple photos if a different image was their favorite), choose a leather/linen fabric for the album cover, and the album is finalized and ordered when they leave!

Albums arrive just a couple weeks later, so couples can be holding their wedding album in their hands just a couple months after their wedding day. It’s amazing!

  • I started shooting professionally in 2010, when I began taking my own wedding and portrait clients! Photography was my part-time job throughout college (I’d shoot weddings in the summers, was a second shooter for a couple photographers in Minneapolis, and learned as much as I could).

I launched my business full-time in January 2015 and am incredibly grateful to still be a full-time photographer all these years later. Honestly, I still get giddy when I get to introduce myself as a photographer - it’s a dream job for me!

If you’d like to read my full origin story or more info on my education background, I go into detail on that on my About page!

  • Yup! I’ve been a full-time photographer since 2015. Weddings and families make up about half of my business, and the rest of my time I’m photographing boudoir portraits over at my other brand Illuminate Boudoir.

  • Yes, I’ve got all kinds of insurance for work - equipment insurance, liability insurance, etc.

  • That’s a really important question because digital media can be fragile! I have built a lot of redundancy into my file management process.

While I’m shooting on wedding days, my cameras hold two memory cards (so each picture gets saved in two places for an immediate level of redundancy) and I’m also shooting with two cameras throughout the day. As soon as I get home (yes, even when it’s suuuper late at night) the first thing that I do after a wedding is copy the pictures onto two additional external harddrives, and final pictures get backed up on two external harddrives as well as a cloud-based backup online.

It’s all very detailed and a little over-cautious if anything, but I think wedding pictures are worth being over-cautious about.

  • If I’m shooting a full-length wedding day, I will need to eat a meal at some point (just like you!), and so a meal (for myself and my second-shooter) is included in my contract.

Some couples will have their caterers provide me with a vendor meal, and it’s also an option for us to pop our to our car and have a picnic for twenty minutes. But I’d say most of my couples end up just seating us with their guests - that way we can stay there in the action in case anything photo-worthy comes up.

  • Usually! I include a second photographer with most of my wedding packages (with the exception of my shortest wedding photography days, when it doesn’t make as much of a difference).

Most of the time, my second photographer is my partner Tyler! He has always loved photography as a hobby; actually, when we first started dating back in college, we’d go on photo adventure-dates together and take pictures while hiking or camping. His style is super artsy, and he’s great at capturing candids and atmospheric pictures that add really beautiful dimension to my own work.

  • Of course you can - and this is something that I help with, too! About a month before your wedding, I meet with my couples for a Final Details Meeting. At this point, we talk through your final photography timeline as well as any photo requests that you have. And a few weeks before this meeting, I’ll send you some guidelines and examples of photo requests that are most common for things like family/wedding party pictures.

When it comes to other photography requests during the day, keep in mind that I'll be capturing candids the whole time I'm there - I usually prefer to work "in the moment" rather than having to spend the day focusing on checking things off of a list, but if there are one or two specific things I should know about (if you want a picture of your dress hanging up, or if there's a surprise during the reception I should be aware of, etc) you can add those in to your requests as well.

  • I can help you! This is one of those things that I think couples often expect themselves to figure out, but don’t really know where to start or how to calculate the amount of time they need to have a photographer around on their wedding day. There’s no one-size-fits-all answer for this, because it depends a lot on your wedding day, your priorities, your communities, etc.

So, when I meet with couples initially to decide if we’d like to work together, this is one of the things that we talk about. I can help you talk through your wedding-day timeline, give you a sense of some options for how photography can fit into it, and help you make a decision that feels like a good reflection of your needs.
