What to do with wedding photographs: a leather wedding album

A turquoise leather wedding album for Nadia and Sal’s colorful, emotional wedding day

From my first chat with Nadia and Sal, I was psyched to learn that they loved printed art and were excited about creating a beautiful, storytelling wedding album. It was a joy to bring this to life with them!

Nadia and Sal got married at the Landmark Center in St. Paul this past spring with a two-day affair that was full of color and emotions and a giant, happy community. Their album was a perfect choice for them: it’s an epic 12x12” large square album with 80 pages and a luxurious leather cover.

These albums are made at a bindery out in Oregon - each album is made by hand from incredibly archival, beautiful materials. Like all of my albums, these pages are made of photographic paper that are mounted to thick board pages - so there’s no cut in the middle of the page spreads, just one long seamless print, which is how I can create designs with pictures that go across the entire spread. This album is extra special because it’s so large, and the square shape creates a really dramatic and classic feel.

Mini wedding albums as a gift for parents

Sal and Nadia chose to create two “parent albums”, which are these smaller 5x5” square albums. Parent albums are a tiny version of a wedding album, and make a really sweet gift for family members! Parents go absolutely bananas over these, and it’s so charming that they’re a miniature version of the same wedding album.

Nadia and Sal chose a stunning deep turquoise leather for their album cover - it feels super luxurious, elegant, and fun all at the same time. And I love the balance and flow of Nadia and Sal’s album design - some pages are packed full with a collage of many pictures, which feels high-energy. Others have a more minimalist design with lots of white space to give a bit of breathing room and focus to calmer, emotional moments. And some extra-special pictures get a full two-page spread, where one photo goes across both pages for an incredible, immersive moment.
