I’m so excited to share Tessa and Michael’s wedding album with you today!
There’s something so special about creating physical art that my couples will enjoy for the rest of their lives and be able to pass down to future generations someday! I absolutely love making printed art with wedding photos; I think this is what sets me apart as a wedding photographer in the Twin Cities.
One of the main reasons couples choose me to photograph their wedding is because I specialize in helping them create a wedding album that they can hold in their hands or art that they can hang in their home. (Of course, couples also want digital photos from their wedding, so I provide those in all of my wedding packages too!) I help every couple I work with create really special wedding art that is unique to them -- and I totally love getting to do it.
Tessa and Michael had a beautiful, intimate backyard wedding in late summer/early fall (which you might remember from this blog post). Their wedding, which they shared with a couple dozen guests, was a really special day full of intentional elements and traditions! I was so excited to help them create a wedding album that honors their community and the beautiful, intentional moments woven throughout their wedding day.
Tessa and Michael’s storytelling, community-filled album
Tessa and Michael picked a blush leather cover for their wedding photo album. They opted to have their names subtly imprinted on the front cover, which gave the album a delicate, modern feel. Their album was made right here in the Midwest, has incredibly thick pages, and is made with the best archival materials -- it turned out so beautifully.
The photos in Tessa and Michael’s wedding album really bring the story of their wedding to life. Flipping through their album, you’ll find beautiful pictures of their first look as they walked along the edge of the lake. There are sweet pictures of Tessa getting ready and spending some quiet moments with her mom and sister before the ceremony, as well as photos of Michael with his dad and best friends putting on their ties together.
One of my favorite parts of their album is the happy photos of Tessa and Michael with their dog, Anita, interspersed with pictures of them with their sweet nephew!
Tessa and Michael put so much care into their wedding decorations, many of which they made themselves! Their beautiful florals were done by an amazing florist, and they carefully created a fantastic tablescape to flow down the long table where they ate dinner with their guests.
One of my favorite photo spreads in the album is the two pages that show pictures of all the toasts! Tessa’s father gave a really lovely toast to kick off the evening, and there’s a really fun picture of him and the guests laughing together as he speaks -- it really sets the scene of what it felt like to be there at dinner. Another picture shows Tessa’s sister tearing up during toasts and Michael’s best man laughing during his speech. These pictures really communicate just how happy everyone was to be together that day.
I created the layouts in Tessa and Michael’s wedding album to organically tell the story of each moment from their wedding day. For example, to communicate the high energy and happy buzz that were in the air during Tessa and Michael’s cocktail hour, I created a collage-style spread to lead the viewer’s eyes to dance around as they’re taking in each picture.
Tessa and Michael’s wedding album ends with a two-page panoramic spread of the two of them sharing an intimate moment at the edge of the lake as the sun set. It was a truly magical moment in their wedding day, and it made for a peaceful, romantic finish to their wedding album.
Tessa and Michael, thank you again so much for letting me photograph your wedding! It was such a joy to revisit your wonderful wedding day as I flipped through your wedding album.
