Hannah and Matt's Snowy Engagement Photos
Hannah and Matt's Elegant, Rustic Wedding at The Mill
Hannah and Matt were planning a big wedding with the focus on their close-knit communities of friends and family. (It’s in a few weeks and I’m so excited!) So they wanted these engagement photos to be a bit more intimate-feeling, light-hearted and focused on them as a couple.
We planned a session for February at Lake of the Isles. I love this location for photos, depending on the specific part of the lakeshore you choose it can feel like a little city neighborhood or a park in the middle of nowhere. These photos are so natural and woodsy, full of trees and fresh, white snow.
Emily and Ian's Thoughtful, Handmade Wedding at the Campus Club
Hannah and Matt are high school sweethearts they share a deep love of the outdoors, of exploring Minnesota’s lakes. They love hanging out together, sharing a beer at a brewery with friends. They imagined themselves on their wedding day surrounded by this giant circle of happy people and really being able to be in the moment, enjoying everyone around them.

When the story of a marriage starts in ninth grade summer camp, I just know that the day will be full of personal touches and all the ways lives and communities intertwine. For Emily and Ian’s campus club wedding, every little moment was an expression of their creativity and the life they’ve built together.

While there isn’t one rule for hanging art that applies to every situation, there are some best practices to use when choosing where and to place art on your wall. Read on to learn some tips and see what we considered when we hung Emily and Tommy’s engagement art.
Emily and Tommy's Winter Engagement Photos in St. Paul
For Amanda and Ben’s engagement session last winter, we planned a Minneapolis photoshoot with a little bit of everything: some cozy, hygge-inspired portraits in my natural light studio, some lifestyle engagement photography documenting them cooking at home, and a happy, spontaneous walk in the fresh snow.
Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Wedding Party Photos
Emily and Tommy wanted to celebrate their life in St. Paul and some of their very favorite things to do as a couple, so we planned a session that captured iconic locations and incorporated Emily and Tommy’s love of their local music scene.

What To Do with Your Engagement Photos (and a Real-couple Example!)
For Michelle and Tim the North Loop is home: it’s full of their favorite places, great memories and so much of their love story. So when we planned their engagement session, it was a natural fit to choose the place where they live (and where Tim proposed) in their corner of the North Loop.
Emily and Ian's Wayzata Engagement Photos
Tracy and Paul’s home has an eclectic mixture of rustic, earthy textures complimented with more industrial glam elements, and our gallery wall captured both. We designed a set of three framed photos, two in metallic gold frames and a center portrait in one of my frames made of reclaimed barn wood.
Katherine and John's Personal, Non-Traditional Wedding in Idaho Falls
For their engagement portraits, Emily and Ian wanted to capture two different vibes and two different locations. For the first portraits, Emily and Ian brought me along on a mini-date to charming downtown Wayzata and, as the sun started to set, we drove to a park near Medicine Lake to capture the pretty fall colors.
Rachel and Jake's Backyard Wedding in the Minnesota Countryside
One of the reasons I love this work is that I love capturing love. The personal moments and history between two people joining as partners. So I was doubly glad, filled to the brim really, when Katherine, my best friend from college, invited me to capture her marriage to her partner John.
Grace and Ella's Rainbow-Bright LGBTQ Wedding Styled Shoot
Rachel and Jake had vision for a simple wedding. A laid-back, comfortable day to celebrate with all their favorite people. So they planned a, relaxed, intimate wedding day in Jake’s parent’s backyard in North Branch, Minnesota.
Tracy and Paul's Outdoor Engagement Plus 4 Tips for Having Your Dog in Photos
One of the things I love most about my work as a wedding photographer is that I get to be creative every day, to help all different types of couples tell their love stories through photos.
So when Chelsea, the designer at Modehaus, and I started dreaming up a fun and creative wedding for one of our local same-sex or queer couples we knew that we had to make our dream faux-wedding a reality.
Alli and Tavish's Elegant Fall Wedding at Bunker Hill Golf Course
When Tracy, Paul and I started planning their fall engagement session, they knew they wanted a relaxed session, in their element, so we planned a little walk in the park with their dog, Miss Devon.
Michelle and Tim's Supreme-Court-Inspired (Yes, Really!) Wedding in the North Loop
Just after I met Alli and Tavish, they invited me over to their house and cooked me dinner. That simple gesture completely sums up Alli and Tavish as people and as a couple. They’re so calm and comfortable, beautifully in tune with one another and focused on creating a welcoming, easy atmosphere for everyone around them.
When they asked me to photograph their laid-back, elegant fall wedding at Bunker Hill Golf Course, I was so happy to oblige.
Jen and Eric's Joyful Fall Wedding
Michelle and Tim’s engagement story begins with Tim furious at Florida. On the eve of the 2016 election, Tim had planned a grand surprise proposal for he and Michelle’s Florida vacation; there were friends involved, the ring was packed for a trip to the Sunshine State and Tim had his speech memorized.
From our first meeting, it was clear that Jen and Eric were infatuated. I was immediately taken with how kind they are to each other, how they both listen to and respect what the other has to say.
They both agreed that they wanted their wedding photos to be an extension of their lives: relaxed, happy and full of joy in their community and family.
