Just after I met Alli and Tavish, they invited me over to their house and cooked me dinner. That simple gesture completely sums up Alli and Tavish as people and as a couple. They’re so calm and comfortable, beautifully in tune with one another and focused on creating a welcoming, easy atmosphere for everyone around them.

When they asked me to photograph their laid-back, elegant fall wedding at Bunker Hill Golf Course, I was so happy to oblige.

Michelle and Tim’s engagement story begins with Tim furious at Florida. On the eve of the 2016 election, Tim had planned a grand surprise proposal for he and Michelle’s Florida vacation; there were friends involved, the ring was packed for a trip to the Sunshine State and Tim had his speech memorized.

From our first meeting, it was clear that Jen and Eric were infatuated. I was immediately taken with how kind they are to each other, how they both listen to and respect what the other has to say.

They both agreed that they wanted their wedding photos to be an extension of their lives: relaxed, happy and full of joy in their community and family.

My meeting Melissa and Andrew was pure serendipity. I was chatting with another engaged couple at Common Roots Cafe (I love their lavender lattes) and afterwards Melissa tapped my shoulder to ask if I happened to be a wedding photographer. She and Andrew were having trouble finding a photographer to capture their relaxed, candid vision for their wedding day and wondered if I could help.

My favorite weddings are those that truly embody the couple getting married. And when Emily and Phil told me how they wanted to structure their wedding celebration to embrace their supportive community, I was instantly on board.
