Outdoor Minnesota Wedding at the Wayzata Country Club
A summer Wayzata Country Club wedding
Summer begs for outdoor weddings, with portraits of the bride and groom under lush leafy trees and a sun-drenched cocktail hour on the patio. This outdoor Minnesota wedding at the Wayzata Country Club brings together some of the loveliest things summer weddings have to offer: organic, elegant flowers with lots of leafy goodness, a quaint Wayzata church, and a romantic first look on the grounds of the Wayzata Country Club.
I shot this wedding as a second photographer working with Becca Dilley Photography. The day started with us arriving to the Wayzata Country Club in the morning, as Ashlie was getting ready with her mom and her bridesmaids. (I love the image below of her mom tearing up while helping her with her veil!)
Ashlie and Adam planned time for a First Look, so that we could capture the two of them seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day. We found some beautiful green space on the front lawn of the Wayzata Country Club, set Adam up facing away from the path, and documented their relaxed moments together under the trees. Their wedding party joined them outside (I’m in love with the romantic blush bridesmaids dresses, all in slightly different hues and styles), and then we went off to their church ceremony at a sweet little chapel in Wayzata.
Their guests met up with them at a cocktail hour on the outdoor patio at the Wayzata Country Club. Adam’s family is from Honduras, and they were psyched to bring out a mariachi band for their guests during cocktail hour, which led a bunch of his aunts and cousins to start dancing right there on the patio, in the sun. And they just kept on dancing, before dinner, during dinner, after dinner… their community of guests was vibrant and so psyched to celebrate these two, and it was an incredibly fun atmosphere.
