Minnesota outdoor newborn session

Today I’m so excited to share some portraits from a Minnesota outdoor newborn session that I captured of my dear friends Kayla and Brad and their newborn son Owen! This sweet boy was born in their home city of Houston, and during a trip to MN to visit family we were able to capture these photographs in the greenery of a Minnesota park.

Minnesota outdoor newborn session: a gift of the summer

One of the wonderful things about photographing newborns is that they love anything warm – back in the summer when I took these pictures, it was toasty and humid and little Owen was beyond comfortable. Babies who are born in other seasons certainly have plenty of options for newborn portrait settings (cozy sessions inside a home, natural-light sessions in my studio, etc) but I love the opportunity for an outdoor newborn session in the summer months.
